As we move out of the COVID-19 pandemic into a fall and winter with more opportunities to resume normal activities, the Canadian Intercollegiate Lumberjacking Association (CILA) will be slowly resuming their competitive calendar.
CILA schools will spend fall 2021 recruiting and training their logger sports teams in preparation for regional competitions. Our regular schedule of four competitions per year in the Maritimes, Quebec and Ontario will be reduced to reflect the current challenges related to team travel and accommodations, with the goal being to provide at least one competitive opportunity for all schools by the end of 2021-22 season.
As COVID-19 related public health guidelines evolve so too will our competitive calendar, keeping in mind that the health and safety of our student-athletes is paramount. We know that learning logger sports skills and competing against other student-athletes has been a long-standing tradition at CILA schools and we are committed to ensuring a safe and vibrant return to competitive lumberjacking.
